I Am The Horses
I'm lying on the ceiling
And I'm staring at the floor,
I can't believe how much I'm caught up in the flow.
Jamie isn't feeling it,
She's walking out the door
And barely mentioning the place she wants to go.
All the leaves are turning
All the colors of a fire
And I'm thinking it's like autumn read my mind.
Cuz I am surely burning,
Almost blinded by desire,
So I follow Jamie, looking for a sign.
'I see no need to rush,' she says, and wanders down the hill.
She doesn't seem to feel too much, me, I'm fit to split and spill.
I don't want to say it,
But I'm twisted up inside
And now she's turned herself away toward the lake.
Just the other day it
Was the fortuneteller tried
To tell me, 'that which isn't yours you cannot take.'
But looking at her now
Beneath the late October sun,
I know the path I chose has really chosen me.
As long as I allow it
She will watch the horses run
and I'm dying for my love to be that free.
'Let's slow this whole thing down,' she says, and leans against the rail.
She doesn't seem to feel a thing, me, I'm braced against the gale.
I don't hold the reins.
I don't hold the reins.
I am the horses.
I am the muscular team.
I am the horses charging.
Make way.
