The obvious reason for it is that playing guitar is difficult indeed and it takes some fair amount of practice and tenacity to master it. You should learn to play piano first and then move on to other instruments. Here are some logical reasons why learning a piano is easier than most of the other instruments:

Here are some tips that you can take into practice if you want to play an instrument while singing.
Know Your Lyrics By Heart
The first thing that you must be aware of, and probably the most important thing is to memorize your lyrics and know it by heart! It will be nearly impossible to play a guitar and sing at the same time if you don’t know the words. If you know the lyrics, you can concentrate on your playing.
Initially Pick Easy Songs
Do not be harsh to yourself. Pick an easy song to sing with a simple melody that you can play along an instrument with. Remember that you are trying to combine three skills at the same time: Singing, playing an instrument, and singing while playing an instrument.
What are those easy songs, you might ask? Start with songs that have easy lyrics, chords, and beats. We choose these because they are easier to memorize Songs that are easy to sing and play separately will be less challenging to sing and play together.
Build Up Speed Once Comfortable
Start slow and build up speed as soon as you feel comfortable with the song. Try going at half speed until you get the feel for singing while playing. Then increase to two-thirds speed.
It’s either you’ll be surprised or you wont even know it but after a while, you’ll be able to play the song at full speed.
A great tip too is that you can use a mixing software to slow down the song so you can learn it. Then try playing the song on your own, and record yourself so that you can listen to the playback.
Keep on Practicing – Practice Makes Perfect
Practice makes perfect so there’s no excuse not to do it. Repetition is the only way to learn to play an instrument and it also applies in singing and playing an instrument.
Practice singing and playing the song whenever you have spare time. If you’ve got a busy schedule, set other hobbies aside so that you can practice your singing and playing. It takes a lot of work, but the end results will be very impressive!

Many of us are captured by music, so much so that music has become an important part of our lives. At some point in our lives, many of us want to learn to play a musical instrument. We may thing that taking violin lessons or guitar lessons is fun. Or we may fantasize that we can turn professional and perform on stage. Well, learning to play a music instrument like the ukulele, saxophone, guitar or violin may turn out to be more than a hobby as many people have gone on to teach once they have mastered the instrument.
It does not matter if your child is looking to learn a music instrument, or if you are trying to pick up the skills of playing violin or playing guitar at middle age. In this article, I will outline four music instruments which are relatively easy to learn at any age:
1. Ukulele
The ukulele is probably one of the easiest music instrument to play. Unlike the guitar, it has only four strings. The size of the ukulele is also portable, the smallest being the Soprano Ukulele followed by the concert and tenor ukulele. Even a child as young as four years old can take ukulele lessons and learn to play the ukulele by strumming simple chords.
2. Guitar
The guitar is currently one of the most popular music instruments around. Many young children and teenagers aspire to play the guitar at some point in time. The guitar is also relatively cheap, and you can opt to learn the acoustic guitar or the classical guitar as a start. Most teenagers nowadays prefer to learn the acoustic guitar to play pop songs. As with the ukulele, you will need to master how to strum chords for the guitar.
You also have the option to learn to play the electric guitar. However the electric guitar costs more than the acoustic or the classical guitar so if you are on a budget I suggest you start off learning the acoustic and classical guitar.
3. Violin
The violin is as popular as the guitar and can be learnt at any age. Violins come in many sizes, starting with 1/16 size for three year olds, to 1/8 size, ¼ size, half size, ¾ size and full size. The most important step in learning the violin, no matter what age, is to master the proper bowing and fingering techniques.
4. Piano
The piano can be learnt from age five onwards. The most important aspect in learning the piano is to practice constantly and master the playing techniques.
As a parent, you want to expose your children to as many interesting experiences as possible, and that includes exposure to music. Most music teachers agree that it is not a good idea to expose children to formal music lessons too early because that is a sure way to put them off music. We recommend avoiding lessons before the age of eight, unless they show a real interest in children’s musical instruments before then. Expose them to different styles and genres of music. Take them to live music experiences as often as you can.
They should be able to recognise numbers and know the alphabet up to G before taking up a musical instrument. They should also be developmentally ready as well, both physically and emotionally. For example, children should wait until their second set of front teeth are fully grown before picking up the trumpet or cornet.
The recorder is a very popular first childrens musical instrument, and is a good introduction to other wind instruments as a child grows. When played well, it can be played up to concert standard, and can be a very rewarding and beautiful instrument. A child can play a recorder early, as soon as his or her fingers are big enough to cover the holes.
For other wind and brass instruments, the child needs to be big enough to hold and blow them. Strong lips and being able to produce a good “puff” is crucial. These instruments do not usually come in smaller equivalents, and when they do (the piccolo or soprano saxophone, for example), they require a higher degree of skill, so they are not good choices for young children. Most children start with the cornet and progress to larger and more complicated instruments as they mature.
The piano can be played as soon as a child can reach the keys and have enough strength to press them down. Some children can handle a violin as early as age four, but most start the violin when they are six. Stringed instruments often come in smaller sizes, so children can start playing them at a young age. Some stringed instruments can be one-eighth the size of full sized instruments. Most guitars, for example, come in smaller sizes and are suitable for children age eight and above.
Sometimes children and their parents forget that the singing voice is the perfect musical instrument. Children should be encouraged to sing from a young age and have confidence in their own ability. Singing is something that all children can be involved with and is a great group activity for school music sessions.
